hk-93

Character Name: HK-93

Position, Occupation: Assassin/”Protocol” Droid

Character's Political View: Pro-war. Delights in killing meatbags for his Master, regardless of which “side” they’re on. War promises an abundant supply of hostile meatbags in need of gutting. May it never end!

Age: 23

Sex: “Male”

Eye Color: Glowing orange-red.

Hair Color: None. Possession of an extraordinarily well-crafted temperature-control system insures that he has no need for such an inconvenient, high-maintenance, and inefficient appliance as “hair.”

Height: 5’9”/1.8 meters

Weight: 320 lbs

Marital Status:

Though his own qualities are no doubt inimitable, should he find it desirable to reproduce, a factory would prove to be a far more efficient, effective, and sanitary, not to mention non-disgusting method than “marriage,” and the associated bodily-fluid exchanges employed by meatbags.

Birthplace: Mustafar

Species: Droid.

Family: “Father,” HK-47

Physical Description: A large, red humanoid droid with a head reminiscent of a saber-toothed cat.

Background:

HK-93 was created on Mustafar toward the end of the Clone Wars. He was copied from a much older design…that of HK-47, who had been found by the Neimodians, and his lethal expertise discovered. The circumstances of this discovery are unknown. HK-47 was later encountered on Mustafar with an army of droids around the time of the Battle of Yavin.

HK-93 was apparently intended to be the first of an army of superior assassin droids, a last-ditch “wonder-weapon” to turn the tide of the war. However, HK’s earliest memories are of his “father” destroying his siblings and seeking to do the same to him, apparently disliking the idea of being reproduced without his permission. The Neimodians’ battle droids engaged HK-47, and HK-93 (so named because the eccentric leader of the project considered the number 93 to have important numerological associations) escaped. He does not know whether his “father” also escaped, or was disabled.

Professional History:

Shortly after his escape, he was captured by a Republic starship captain named Del’ Maris as a “souvenir” of the wars. Del’Maris used him as a protocol droid and bodyguard for a time, then discovered his assassination protocols. After the fall of the Republic and the Jedi, Del’Maris gave in to the temptation to use HK-93 to speed his advancement in the ranks of the Imperial Navy.

When he reached the rank of Fleet Admiral, he was inducted into an Admiralty conspiracy aiming to replace Vader and Palpatine with a properly “human” and “secular” regime. He began modifying HK for use against Force-empowered enemies, equipping him with a mounted Independently Targetable Guided Shuriken Thrower (MIT-GuST), a weapon that launches supersonic circular projectiles that can be configured to seek toward a heat source (i.e. body) in close proximity to the electromagnetic and sound signatures of a lightsaber, while avoiding the saber itself. This weapon can also be employed against as many as five separate non-Jedi targets, so long as they are within the weapon’s front firing arc.

Before HK could be dispatched to kill his next target—Darth Vader—the Dark Lord discovered that Del’Maris was plotting against him and personally crushed the life out of him with the Force.

Mel’Dromis’ successor found HK in the flaghip’s Droid Maintainence Bay, and employed him as a bodyguard. This Admiral, Anthar Dradannan, was far more cautious than his predecessor, and refused HK’s repeated pleas to be sent to kill Vader. Dradannan was killed by Vader in the same manner as his predecessor—for hesitating in an attack on the newly-formed Rebel Alliance fleet, resulting in the Rebels’ escape to fight again another day.

The next man to inherit HK, Janor’joss Thrall, was unusually superstitious for a senior Imperial officer. He considered HK “unlucky,” and quickly sold him to Malleubba the Hutt. Malleubba found him to be a highly efficacious and useful assassin, and HK found Malleubba to be the very best kind of Master—one with an unending list of targets. This provided him with a rewarding career in Malleubba’s service. After an Imperial fleet interdicted a particularly valuable shipment, Malleubba resolved to get revenge, and sent him to kill the Imperial officer responsible—one Admiral Janor’joss Thrall.

Only a day before HK’s return, Malleubba was killed by one of his slaves, an untrained Force talent named Siduri. He was sold again, this time to a young freighter captain named Kara Dax.

Personality:

This particular poison apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Like his “father,” HK-93 has an exceptionally strong desire to terminate meatbags, and a twisted sense of humor to go with it. Unlike his “father,” HK-93 delights in “messy” assassinations. Though he finds the squishy parts and slimy goo of the average meatbag to be quite disgusting, he derives a perverse pleasure from seeing them splattered everywhere. Though he is quite skilled with an Aratech sniper rifle and other ranged weapons, he gets a special pleasure from “gutting” meatbags up-close and impersonal with melee weapons, including his trademark jaggedly serrated “bowie”-style vibroknife.

He is very loyal to his Master, especially one who has an abundance of enemies they want to see dead.

Vehicle Of Choice:

The Serenity

Base Of Operations:

The Serenity

Weapons:

Aratech Sniper Rifle, MITGuST, the “Meatsticker” (his oversized vibroknife), modified Tenloss DX-2 Disruptor Pistol. This last is modified to have longer range and more shots. As a side effect (or perhaps the primary benefit) the weapon does not entirely disintegrate a humanoid target, but merely vaporizes enough of their flesh to insure an extremely gory and painful death.

Form Of Dress:

Due to the inherent perfection of his extremely well-designed, high-quality body, he has neither the need nor desire to hide it from view.

Augmentations to Body:

Arm-mounted MIT-GuST weapon. Internally-mounted, scan-resistant concealed leg-holsters on each leg for concealing a pistol or other smallish object. Military-grade ion and EMP shielding. Advanced servomotor mechanisms for speed and agility superior to un-enhanced meatbags. Advanced targeting computer and sensor arrays.

Autonomy Package: This mesh of circuitry lining the inside of his armor enables him to “spoof” a restraining-bolt and continue to act autonomously without the bolt’s user being warned.

Security-sealed memory core:

This modification prevents standard memory wipes, and makes it difficult for any but the most skilled slicer or technician to wipe his memory or tamper with his core.

Abilities:

In addition to extensive knowledge of meatbag anatomy and an almost limitless repertoire of techniques for killing and torturing said entities, HK-93 can speak over 6000 languages and dialects. He is also skilled in impersonation. His vocabulator can perfectly replicate any voice he hears, with sufficient fidelity to fool voiceprint locks.
